HOME SECURITY AND SAFETY TIPS
a) When leaving your home for vacation; ensure that nobody suspects that you not at home or your house is
empty, make it seems like is occupied while you are away.
b) Organize a neighbor to constantly check on your home to switch on and off the lights and further check
mail box to create the impression that your home is occupied.
c) Constantly check the alarm systems to ensure its working properly.
d) Unplug all appliances in case of power being restored.
e) Ask your neighbor to look after your pets while you are away.
f) Inform your private security company when you leaving for holidays prior and request the contingency
plan.
g) Double check your windows, doors, buglers remained s intact and no spare keys left in an open area
before departing.
ARMED ROBBERY
a) When approaching your residential area, switch off your radio when you one km away from your home
so that you may remain focus.
b) If a driveway robber confronts you, don’t try to reach for your hand bag or cellphone, they might think
that you are reaching for a gun, raise your hand immediately and remain polite.
c) Lie with your face down outside the car, the robber might not force you in the car.
d) Follow robber’s instructions don’t try to be a hero.
e) Don’t lie to a robber saying you have nothing on your possession, if you have something.
SAFETY TIPS ON VEHICLE THEFT

Make sure that your car is parked in a secured place like locked gates or in the garage, don’t park
your car in the streets where it is not supervised.

You can install a tracker, immobilizer and alarm system in your vehicle and make sure they are
activated at all time.

Close all the windows and the doors when you are living your car in a public place or at home.
·
Put all you valuable staff like handbags, cell phone and all that attract the criminals in the boot of
your car or take them with you.
·
When leaving your car be aware of any suspicious people around the area or parking lot.
HIJACKING SAFETY TIPS
Prevent hijacking when parking your vehicle
:
·
When returning home after dark, ensure that there is an outside light on or have someone to meet
you at the door.
·
Check your rear view mirror to ensure that you are not being followed.
·
When approaching your drive way, be on the lookout for suspicious vehicles/person.
·
Never sit in your parked car without being conscious of your surroundings
Preventing a hijack situation

Know your environment; ensure all your mirrow is adjusted to you an optimal all round view of your
surroundings.

Keep your eyes open for anything out of ordinary, lock all doors and close windows before driving
off.
·
Try to vary your route to places you visits regularly.
·
Don’t stop for someone trying to get help from a stationary car.
·
If approached by a stranger while in a car, drive off possible and or use your hooter to attract
attention, always have an ID drive’s license notepad and a pen to make notes when necessary.
·
Lookouts for suspicious looking character/vehicle report them to police without hesitation.
·
Avoid driving in the dark and never open your vehicle for a stranger e.g Hijackers might stage a
minor accident , so be alert
